A new industry academia rail innovation partnership

UK Railway Research and Innovation Network (UKRRIN), a new partnership between RSSB, academia (9 universities) and industry has been launched in the UK earlier this week. The aim of the Network is to support innovation in rail transport in centers across the UK and "establish the UK as a world-leading centre of railway excellence". The Network received a total of £92 mln, from the Higher Education Funding Council for England and from 17 industrial partners, for research activities divided into 3 priority areas:
